Aquaterro, APT Engineering and Theon Sensors announce Cooperation for the Australian Defence Market.

Published on: 15 June 2015

In line with our last year’s announcement Aquaterro, APT Engineering and Theon Sensors are happy to announce the commencement of their cooperation in the area of developing, producing and maintaining Theon Sensors (“THEON”) products for the Australian Defense Market initially and eventually the broader Pacific Rim region.

More specifically, Aquaterro will establish a local technical assembly facility to:

  • Maintain all of THEON’s Night Vision products (weapon sights, monoculars and binoculars); and
  • Assemble and qualify the two new products of THEON namely, NYX (a Dedicated Night Vision Binocular) and DAMΩN (a Clip-on Night Vision Device).

The NYX is the latest THEON dedicated binocular already presented in Australia; DAMΩΝ is a Night Sight designed to be mounted in front of existing day optical sights providing night vision capabilities and target acquisition. It further enhances the company’s current line of night aiming devices providing advanced user features and ergonomics as well as the best dimensions: performance ratio.

Aquaterro will also participate in the design-optimisation of a specialised version of the DAMΩN Night Vision Sight, to meet specific Australian needs. The first such product is expected to be completed at Aquaterro’s facilities within the next four months. APT Engineering will be involved in producing certain key components of this product while Aquaterro will be responsible for the final assembly and quality control.

Theon Sensors’ Profile

With main production line facilities in Athens and offices in Abu Dhabi and Singapore and soon a coproduction line in India, Theon Sensors is today one of the Global Market Leaders in Night Vision Systems for military and security applications.
